Brief background to my title of my Research Project
My research focus for the current academic year for this module will be the role of the media on transformation in sport particularly in cricket. Already there are numerous researches which have been done on the similar topic. I will like to ask questions on how media coverage contribute to the transformation of sport or if you like how media coverage contribute to the decolonalization of the previously white sport in the country.
My research proposal background will set the scene about the current talent pool and how media coverage has assisted them to reach their goals. I will look at how incidences like the Ontong and Rudolph; Phildender and Abbot have shaped selection policies in sport. Both incidences played themselves out in the media.

It is an interesting topic given the recent development within the cricket leadership. What would be interesting is how various media have differed in emphasising certain perspective regarding transformation and if there is any value that has been added by media in promoting cricket players coming from disadvantage communities.
